  • "Peace on the Porch" at SCRC Chapelwood

    In this world of noise, busyness and clutter, we all need spaces to find and experience the peace of Christ. If you are seeking quiet space, sacred space, time with the Spirit, we are offering quiet space at Soul Care Retreat on Chapelwood Drive this fall. Join us for any part of the day on Tuesdays from 11am-3pm beginning September 17-November 19, 2024. Coffee, tea and water are available inside as well as community space around the table. Outside is silent space for journaling, reading or sitting in God's creation. The prayer trail, labyrinth and porch are open. No need to reply. There is room for all.   • SERVICE OF REPENTANCE

    Thursday, December 5 at 6:30 p.m.


    After years of historical and spiritual work led by The Isaac Project* Committee, we will gather in the Nave for a Service of Repentance. The hope for this liturgy is to give voice to injustice, to remember that which is too easily forgotten, and to redeem, restore, and repair that which was shattered in this place.


    The Reverend Stephanie Spellers will be the guest preacher for the liturgy.


    *The purpose of The Isaac Project is to quicken institutional awareness around practices, actions, ministries, and systems that have, either intentionally or implicitly, fostered racism and inhibited the comprehensive pursuit of holiness, righteousness, and the justice of God by the people, vestry, and clergy of Christ Church Cathedral. www.christcathedral.org

  • Mission trip to New Life Restoration Ministry’s campus in Nairobi, Kenya.

    Dates: September 15 - 25 , 2025


    Proposed Itinerary:

    • Depart Nashville on September 15 and arrive September 16. Get settled and rest on September 17. 
    • September 18 and 19 spent at the New Life school and orphanage home.
    • Saturday September 20, travel 60 miles to visit their Kima farm plus doing some sightseeing around Nairobi city.
    • Sunday September 21, attend NLRMI central church and visit Toi Market and Kibera.
    • Monday September 22, go for either one or two day safari to a local game park.
    • Evening of Tuesday September 23 or afternoon the 24, catch a flight back to the US.
    • Returning to Nashville on the 24 or 25, depending on your departure date.

    Pastor Paul will be in Nashville from November 17 to the 25 with a visit to St. B’s on

    Sunday the 24.
